Pack Ranks:
Alpha: The alpha is the leader of the pack. The alpha makes all of the pack's final decisions. They are the glue that holds the members of the pack together. Only the alpha and his/her mate breed, unless the alpha gives the other ranks permission to breed.
Beta: The betas look after and make sure the other canines follow the alpha's decisions. They usually serve as advisors to the alphas. Should the alpha die, the beta becomes the new alpha.
Delta: The deltas are a canine or pair of canines in training that will take the beta spot should the betas fall.
(Only Alpha/Beta ranks can make the final decision on accepting/rejecting new members. The betas may only make this decision if it has been a few days and the alpha is nowhere to be found.)
Sentry: The sentries keep watch over the land by scouting and patrolling. They are constantly on the move, wary for any danger. They usually greet the newcomers before the alpha/betas arrive and warn of any potential danger.
Hunter: Hunters are usually very quick and agile. They form the hunting parties and usually lead the chase.
Subordinate: These are general pack members that don't fit any other specific rank.
Omega: The lowest in the pack. The scapegoat. Submits to all others in the pack.
Others in the Pack:
Elder: The elders are canines that are in their later years, usually ten or older. They are still taken care of by the pack and are usually wise.
Juvenile: Older pups. Usually seven-twelve months old.
Pup: Young canines from birth to six months.
Non-Pack Titles:
Loner: A loner is a wolf/coyote that is not a member of any pack, be it due to exile or not wishing to be a part of a pack.
Drifter: A drifter is a dog/hybrid that is not a member of any pack, be it due to exile or not wishing to be a part of a pack.
