Character Info Name: Thesia (Thea) Age: 3 years Gender: Female Species: Grey wolf Weight: Currently 75lbs Height: 2'3" at shoulder Appearance: With her stark white fur, Thesia sticks out like a sore thumb more often than not. Even with the hints of cream showing through from her undercoat, and the pale tan patch that starts between her eyes and runs half way down her muzzle, the young female has a hard time hiding. This causes a problem when she hunts in any season other than winter. With a nice blanket of snow on the ground, she has a much easier time. Her eyes are a deep amber, almost a burnt orange in color. A bit smaller than most of the other wolves she has ever been around, lean and long legged, it makes her a quick hunter, at least in the winter months. She can hold her own during the rest of the year, but winter is her time. Her ears are slightly rounded at the top, that combined with her shorter muzzle gives her the appearance of an overgrown fox, but there is no denying her pure-bred heritage. History (200+ words): Outcast. She had heard it all her life, almost from the minute she was born, the other members of her pack would whisper the word in the dark. The fact that she was the only pup to survive from her litter, and her light color seemed proof enough to the rest of them that her mother had strayed, this pup would never belong. Every other member of the pack was either pitch black or varying shades of gray, most of which were close enough to black that it was hard to tell. Thea would never fit in, it would be far to hard to hide such an abomination.
Her mother, Kaya, was left to fend for herself on the edges of the packs territory, reduced to little more than something for the rest of the pack to taunt and take out their frustrations on. In the end Thesia was two weeks old, her mother was cast out of the pack, the nearly helpless pup along with her. The next year found the pair doing little more than drifting from place to place, finding barely enough to survive. Eventually, Thea's mother died, leaving the half grown pup to fend for herself. She continued to wonder for nearly two years, finding herself chased away from one pack or another, never finding a place to fit in.
She was very un-trusting of any pack, and whenever she was approached by one, or caught the tell tale scent markers of a pack territory, she quickly moved on, but Thesia knew that one day, she would have to give up her wondering ways and find her way into pack.
Desired Pack: Lunitari
Starting Post
Cold was the only word for it. Winter was setting in with a vengeance, leaving a crunchy layer of frost that caught the light, making the forest floor look like there was a covering of diamonds as far as the eye could see. There were small drifts of snow at the bases of nearly all the trees, boulders and rocks, the light flurry from the night before having caught the wind and settled against anything it could find. It was still quit, the little woodland creatures still trying to wake up to make the final preparations for winter
With the weather turning colder, Thesia knew that it was only a matter of time before she would have more game than she would know what to do with. Life was so much easier when there was a nice blanket of snow on the ground for her to hide in. She was going beyond lean, with out the thick covering of fur, her ribs and hip bones would be visible. It had been a hard summer, and there were a few days when she wasn't sure if she would wake up to see the sun again.
With her nose to the ground, the hunt was on, hoping that her early morning stop would be a short one. Thea had caught the scent of other wolves in the area and didn't want to be caught in the middle of someone's territory. The she-wolf had learned long ago that she would not be welcome. It wasn't long before the tempting scent of rabbit filled her nostrils, bringing her to a dead stop to take deep breaths of the scent, amber eyes turning upwards to give the area a quick scan. Her prey wasn't in sight, but she knew it was around here somewhere, the trick was going to be bringing it down quickly before she was caught poaching in pack territory.
The lone female followed the scent, her steps light as she moved through the forest. It wasn't long before the scent grew stronger, causing her to slow her steps, body held in almost a crouch as she neared the small rabbit. Thesia could see it now, nibble on a few shoots of winter grass, not more than ten feet from where she was now. A cold breeze blew along her body, making her want to press closer to the ground, but at least she was down wind of the rabbit, it wouldn't have much of a chance to run.
She flattened her ears, keeping her body low to the ground as she crept forward, muscles twitching in anticipation of the final leap. The rabbit lifted it's head, making her stop dead in her tracks, breath held for fear that the tiny creatures large ears would hear her light steps. As soon as her prey went back to it's breakfast, Thea would creep forward until she was finally in range. One final leap across a patch of dry grass and she had her jaws wrapped around the fragile neck of the rabbit, biting down until she heard the familiar snap and the last squeal.
Thesia kept low to the ground, ears pricked forward to listen for any rustlings in the forest surrounding her. Once she was satisfied that there was no one around, she was on the move again, wanting to make sure she was off of pack lands before she had her breakfast.

[bg=000000][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=border,0,true]=D For: Thesia Muse: Good Words: 558 _______________________________________ Raven hued jaws parted and Varekai let out a yawn, her muzzle bathed for a brief time in a cloud of silver mist. The early morning light filtered through the trees above her den, casting patchy golden spiderwebs on the snow covered forest floor below. The den that Varekai had dug out only a fe weeks ago was perfect now and with the leaves that had fallen into the entrance as she dug out the cavity, her bed was nice and soft, as well as warm. For a moment she lay her head back down and allowed her tail to curl around her body and come to a rest across her nose to keep it from the chill morning air. A few more minutes, then she would stir, for now this was much too comfortable. Time ticked by and ten minutes had passed. Varekai's stomach let out an angry snarl begging to be fed. Hunting the night before hadn't been so easy and the deer she was stalking had managed to get away, leaving her to trudge back home hungry. With a melodramatic sigh her muscles coiled and she heaved herself to her paws. Hopefully with the ease in the weather the prey would be a bit more willing to come out of their burrows and thickets and she might just land a meal to placate her clenching insides. Shaking the sleep off the onyx she-wolf pulled herself up and out of her den beneath the fallen tree. Although the sun was shining the weather was still bitterly cold, probably even more so this morning as the clouds were not holding the heat to the earth. Stretching herself quickly Varekai peered around into the woods, wondering where to start in her search for something to eat. She knew where the deer liked to nibble the bark from the trees, or where the squirrels brave enough to venture out of their tree holes liked to search for the caches of other squirrels. It was just a matter of what she wanted to hunt. Deciding on a squirrel she turned and trotted deeper into the forest. Her neck was craned and her muzzle low while her jet black nostrils searched over the snowy ground for any signs of prey. A few sets of tracks in the snowy crust came into her view but her eyes betrayed that they were a few days old. Continuing on she kept to her search, eyes never wavering as she sought out any small signs. As she was about to turn and head back the other direction the scent of rabbit caught in her nose and she inhaled deeply. The trail was recent and she chased it along the line of large trees until it seemed she would stumble right on top opf the creature. Varekai paused, tucking herself behind a cluster of saplings and peeked through into the clearing. Her eyes feasted upon the rabbit she longed to have in her stomach... only it was in the jaws of another wolf. Her paw steps picked up silently and she followed the lupine top the border of her lands. It was there that she watched the creature go for its kill. Varekai came into view and uttered her words softly."One can only hope that starvation is what brought you to take prey that rightfully belongs to me."

With her nostrils filled with the scent of a fresh kill, Thesia had forgotten the fundamental rule...pay attention to your surroundings at all times. Her first listen had appeared to be clear, either she was simply too excited about the kill and actually having a full belly for a change, or the female that had crept up on her was just that good. None the less, Thesia was was shocked, angry, scared, and still hungry. Not a good mix of emotion.
She stopped dead in her tracks, the frost coated leaves crunching under her paws and her entire body tensed. She caught the scent first, even over the smell of breakfast hanging from her muzzle, the smell of another wolf. Snowy jaws parted, dropping the rabbit to the ground, but she wasn't giving it up, that was proven by the paw she placed over the carcass .
Thesia had been at the edge of the border, she knew she had, this was the same way she had come in and knew where the scent markers were, but she had been caught. She had know the risk when she took it, and still thought it was well worth it. She was hungry, and now she was prepared to defend her breakfast if she needed to. With a huff, she looked longingly towards where she knew the boundry was before turning, paw still resting on the rabbit to face the voice at her back.
All at once, the fight went out of her as she faced what her mother had told her was and would always be, her worst enemy, a black wolf. In a sudden rush, all of the warnings her mother had given her before her death came storm back into her mind. Almost as soon as the fight left her, it was back, quick as a switch, she was back in defense mode. If she didn't eat, she was going to starve, it was as plan and simple as that.
At first glance, it might not be clear just how thin she was, a thick covering of fur could be very deceiving, especially one that had started to thicken even more to ready for the coming winter chill. Closer inspection would show just how bad off she was. Skin and bones was putting it mildly. As she faced the other female, her lips curled back slightly from her lips, a low rumbling growl rolling from her chest.
"It does not rightly belong to you, since I am the one that caught it." Of course, she had no idea who she was dealing with. It wasn't one of the wolves from her previous pack, that just wasn't possible, at least she hoped, but there was still that ingrained mistrust lingering in her mind. The fur at the nape of her neck ruffled, tail bristling as she prepared for a fight that might, or might not come.
